Brief Introduction to Tianjin Suburb
Located at 38°34'N - 40°15'N and 116°43'E - 04°'E, Tianjin lies on the northeast of North China Plain and the lower reaches of Haihe River, bordering Bohai Sea to the east, Yanshan Mountain to the north and Beijing to the west. It starts from Huangya Pass of the centuries-old Great Wall in Jixian in the north, to the Canglang Canal in the south of Zhaizhuangzi, Dagang District, in the south, 189km long from north to south; it joins the drainage channel of Douhe River in the east of Sajintuo Village in Hangu Salt Field with the Tande Trunk Canal in the west of Wangbeng Village along the bank of Ziya River in Jinghai County, 117km wide from east to west. The administrative region of Tianjin covers an area of 11,919.7km2, with a circumference of 900km including a coastline of 152.8km and a land line of over 700km. There are six major rivers:Haihe River, South Canal, North Canal, Ziya River, Daqing River and Yongding River. The city of Tianjin is well-known for its abundance in rivers and closeness to the sea.
